DID YOU KNOW that the Vision Statement of Camp Okoboji is “Jesus at the Lake”? We believe that you will find the Savior in the people, the programs, and the facilities that together are dedicated to our mission of “Serving Christ in Outdoor Ministry” at Camp Okoboji.
GRAIN TRAIN TO LOAD CONTAINER: The Orphan Grain Train will be loading a container on Tuesday, November 18th, starting at 9:00 am. It usually takes 2-2.5 hours to lead, and is a great way to serve. If you can’t help physically, please pray that this load will arrive on a timely manner, not be stolen from by dishonest gov’t officials on the other end, and open doors for the Gospel. Thanks!
DID YOU KNOW that your congregational mission dollars support the District budget in a variety of missions, including $150,000 for DEAF MISSIONS? Our two full-time missionaries, Rev. Dennis Konkel and Patricia Monroe, and our deacon, Patrick Sell, are leading the deaf church and interpreting services to these deaf people in areas like Des Moines, Ames, Fort Dodge, Sioux City and Council Bluffs. The deaf missionaries are training and empowering the members to lead services and teach Bible classes in their area. They are helping to reach out to many isolated deaf persons in small towns and rural areas and sharing the good news about Jesus with them.

STEWARDSHIP CORNER: Thanksgiving is a culmination of all the labor of the preceding year - the tilling of the soil, the planting of the seed, the rain and sunshine nourishing the crop, and then the harvest! The same principle of hard work followed by a reward holds true in the spiritual realm. “Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up“ (Galatians 6:9). “For the Lord your god will bless you in all your harvest and in all the work of your hands, and your joy will be complete“ (Deuteronomy 16:15b)
“EACH WOMAN WHO CHOOSES LIFE for her child affirms our reverence for human life and ennobles our society. Each child is a unique, unrepeatable gift, and every child who escapes the violence of abortion is an immeasurable victory for life.“ not change”. Ronald Reagan, former President of the United States. A Life Quote from Lutherans For Life www.lutheransforlife.org / 888-364-LIFE
RESOURCES FOR STEWARDSHIP: 1 THESSALONIANS 4:13-18: As Christians we live with the sure hope that the best is yet to come regardless of what challenges we face in life. Therefore we can use all of life and life’s resources according to God’s purpose not just our own. That truth makes our stewardship free and joyous in our living and our giving.
THE LUTHERAN HOUR can be heard on WHO radio 1040am on Sunday mornings at 7:30am.
